Oakley the Otter
Oakley the otter was born in Southern Virginia in a small, quiet river that ran through an oak meadow. His name, Oakley, was given to him as a reminder of his birthplace, meaning “meadow of oak trees”.
Oakley is an energetic, enthusiastic and impulsive otter, always up to some sort of mischief, is never one to sit still for long and so is always looking for something to do.
On those quiet days when the river is slow-flowing, Oakley is often found floating down the river on his back, looking up at the sun shining through the branches of the oak trees. Oakley takes in the peace and serenity of the scene, and it gives him the energy he needs to get back to his playful antics!
One day, Oakley decided to explore further upstream, into the unknown parts of the river. He is always so excited to explore new parts of the river and see what treasures he can find. As he ventured further upstream, he heard the sound of laughter coming from a nearby meadow. Oakley followed the laughter and found a group of otters playing together in the meadow.
It turned out to be a family of otters and soon, Oakley had joined in the fun and games. He quickly made friends with his new family, and soon they were all playing and laughing together.
Oakley had finally found his place in the world, and he was so happy. Every day he now spends the day playing with his new family in the meadow of oak trees, and every night he floats back down the river on his back, looking up at the stars twinkling in the night sky.
Oakley has now found his true home in the meadow of oak trees, and he has never been happier!
